079 - Gina's Raffle Quilt

Gina had this quilt sitting around in a closet, (!?!) and needed a quilt for her aunt's charity raffle.  The quilt was a class sample from a class Gina taught in Ritzville several years ago.  "Merrily Blooming Heart" (Anne Bright) filled the blocks, piano keys finished off the border.

This quilt was made by a 12 year old!  While this may look like it's made with nickel squares, she cut every single square!!  This quilt is huge and she did an awesome job of keeping her points pointy and her borders flat.  It's wonderful to see the next generation take an interest in this craft!

This quilt is another example where we let the quilt piecing and fabric do all the talking, the quilting added texture.  "Sweet Wishes" by Anne Bright was the edge-to-edge design used.

How fun is this!  Mary pulled fabrics from her stash to make this cute baby quilt.  "Hanging Hearts" from Forever in Stitches was her choice for the quilting.

This is a charity quilt made by the Wheat Country Quilters.  Quilted with "A Tisket and Tasket" (Anne Bright).

The quilt in the background is a work-in-process by my 12 year old, Kayla.  It's a pattern called "Lawn Chair Quilt" and can be found online (FREE!) at the Moda Bakeshop. It's a great pattern for beginning quilters or if you need a quick, pretty jelly roll quilt.
