031 - Paula's Irish Chain

This is one of several Irish Chain quilts done at a local quilt shop.  Paula chose to use her embroidery machine to  decorate the open blocks.  The quilting design on the big blocks went right through the embroidery.  I used So Fine thread so the quilting thread disappears when it goes over the embroidery.  I prefer this method because it gives great texture without distracting from the embroidery.  It also keeps the texture consistent throughout the quilt.
